Benjamin Kuntz Israel Experience
This fund was established in 1998 in honor of Benjamin Kuntz's term as Chairman of the Board of THE ASSOCIATED: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore by his wife, Marlene, children and grandchildren.

CHANA

CHANA: the Counseling Helpline and Aid Network for Abused Women is the Jewish response to violence against women. CHANA operates a helpline and speakers bureau, and provides counseling, safehouse shelter and legal referrals to women among us who are abused. For more information about CHANA, click here.

 

Darrell D. Friedman Institute for Professional Development
Since 1971, the Darrell D. Friedman Institute for Professional Development (formerly Baltimore Institute for Jewish Communal Service) has been regarded as one of the leading centers for recruitment and training of professional leadership for Jewish communities worldwide. As the coordinating institution that enhances the academic program at Baltimore Hebrew University and partner schools, DFI assists in internship placements and provides professional development seminars that introduce students to a broad array of issues and career options.  In addition, there is a three-week summer experience in Israel and the former Soviet Union.  A mentorship program rounds out the student's experience and provides opportunities to network.

 

Irvin and Irma Klaff Davison Memorial Fund

The Irvin and Irma Klaff Davison Memorial Fund was established in 2004 by A. Robert Davison in loving memory of his parents. The purpose of the fund is to provide grant support to a variety of non-profit organizations providing services throughout the community.

 

Edward A. Myerberg Senior Center
The Edward A. Myerberg Senior Center, a voluntary, non-profit, non-sectarian organization, is dedicated to providing quality services and programs to senior adults residing in northwest Baltimore. The Center's mission is to meet the emotional, social, recreational and educational needs and interests of this group.

 

Jill Fox Memorial Fund

In 1960, Jill Fox was suddenly stricken with a disease that swiftly and unexpectedly took her life. Her parents, Louis and Dorothy Fox established this memorial fund as a means of keeping their daughter's memory alive. At the same time, this fund provides grants to community members afflicted with serious illnesses or physical disabilities for medical and healthcare related service, equipment and treatment not paid for by other resources.

 

Jokes for Jake Philanthropic Fund
The Gelvar family created this fund to support research and programs related to Crohn’s Disease and Enteropathic Arthritis, and other philanthropic purposes.

 

Melinda Joy Siegel Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Melinda Joy Siegel Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 1986 by Marlene and Hillard Siegel in memory of their daughter, Melinda. This special program grants subsidides for young adults, ages nineteen to twenty-six, to attend the renowned Brandeis-Bardin Institute Summer Program in California and other unique Jewish programs in the United States and Israel. These scholarships provide young people in the Maryland and Washington, D.C. area the opportunity to obrain a deeper understanding of their Jewish heritage and their roles as young leaders in the community.

 

Mitchell David Youth Fund

Harryette and Jerry David, inspired by the memory of their son, established the Mitchell David Youth Fund in 1985. Gifts to the Mitchell David Youth Fund provide enriching activities that give youngsters opportunities to enhance their lives both physically and emotionally.  The Fund focuses its efforts primarily on The Mitchell David Teen Center in Northwest Baltimore, which offers age-appropriate programs and access to counseling, as well as a safe haven for at-risk teens in the community.

 

The Samuel J. Baum Memorial Fund: For the Enrichment and Enlightenment of Disadvantaged Children
Sam was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme on December 16, 2003. Throughout his illness, Sam was an inspiration to all of us as he battled valiantly to maintain a meaningful quality of life. Sadly, Sam succumbed to his illness on September 20, 2004, at the young age of 48. Through the acquisition and dissemination of books, periodicals and other publications, children in need are given the love of reading and learning Sam so greatly relished.

 

Steven Kaufman AIDS Outreach Fund
Gifts to the Steven Kaufman AIDS Outreach Fund support prevention and outreach programs that raise community awareness about HIV/AIDS and the risky behaviors associated with the spread of the virus.


Stuart M. Hess Memorial Fund

The Stuart M. Hess Memorial Fund is a philanthropic fund of THE ASSOCIATED. It was established in 1975 in memory of Stuart M. Hess by his parents. The purpose of the fund is to provide grants to support for various philanthropic needs in the community.

 

Susan L. Bloom Memorial Fund

The Susan L. Bloom Memorial Fund was established by her family in 2003 to honor her memory. The grants provided by this Fund reflect the concern Susan exhibited for people and the causes she was involved with during her lifetime. By providing financial aid to those in need, Susan's philanthropic efforts continue.
