JPWI Savvy Auntie Networking Event Photo Album

The face of the Jewish Professional Women’s Initiative (JPWI) is evolving.  We are calling on the younger female professionals to pack up your briefcases, leave your offices a few minutes early and join us, the somewhat older or, should I say, more experienced professional women for our networking sessions four times a year. It is a way to meet other women in the work world, to exchange ideas and create our own web of people we can call on when the need arises. Come on. The guys have had their Old Boys Network forever. It is time for us to reach out and help one another break through that glass ceiling into which we are always crashing.

In case you missed it, let us tell you about our first event of the year. On October 23rd, Jennifer Myerhoff generously opened her home to host our gathering of over 65 professional women. Our speaker was Melanie Notkin, a hip, young, New Yorker who is fast becoming the internet entrepreneur guru.  She recently launched her SavvyAuntie.com website, aptly named for its focus on aunts who love their siblings’ and friends’ offspring and want nothing more than to lavish them with their love, time and knowledge. Her website is being spotlighted nationally for its creativity and visibility and she unselfishly shared with her rapt audience innumerable tips on how to spread your message or sell your product in this internet world we now have all entered.

And now that we have your attention, we want you to keep an eye out for our upcoming events, the next one being our annual wine-tasting, scheduled for late January, the exact date and place to be announced shortly. This year we will have the Wine Jester entertaining us with his many hilarious stories as we happily sip our drinks together.

Oh, yeah, we forgot to mention our downtown “Execs in the City”, a once-a-month lunchtime study group, always led by a fascinating female, and focused on understanding the bible in a way that Hebrew school never dared teach us. We would love to see you there, too.

So, please remember to look for our logo, the cool professional lady carrying a briefcase in her hand. Either by email or snail mail, she will be announcing our upcoming events. Forget all your excuses and just come. You deserve a night to hang out with the girls.

See you in January,

Susan Mehlman and Robin Silver
