Young adult volunteers in their 20s and 30s help to call the numbers and
assist residents one-on-one while getting to know some of Baltimore’s senior
residents.
Dor Tikvah is a two-year leadership development program that caters to women
ages 25-45 who aspire to hold key positions within THE ASSOCIATED and the
Baltimore Jewish community. Dor Tikvah draws its inspiration from the Jewish
traditions of tzedakah (social justice) and tikkun olam
(repairing the world). Through fundraising, educational programs, community
service projects and agency observation experiences, participants develop an
understanding of THE ASSOCIATED and Baltimore’s organized Jewish community, the
importance of women’s philanthropy and gain an array of leadership
skills. The Dor Tikvah motto is, “Women of Hope. Leaders for the
Future.”
This Jewish Volunteer Connection program connects young adult volunteers in
their 20s and 30s with the “greener” side of Baltimore. Past programs included
Canton Stream clean-up, volunteering at Kayam Farm and a trail clearing with a
nature hike at Irvine Nature Center.
ifiknew is an interactive multi-media project of Jewish Community Services
providing information and resources on substance use/abuse, body image and
eating disorders, healthy relationships, HIV/AIDS, media literacy, dealing with
stress, and more. The website features blogs, FAQs, articles of interest, and
compelling videos with local families and friends speaking candidly about how
these issues have impacted their lives and the lives of those they
love.
IMPACT, THE ASSOCIATED's young adult division, seeks to inspire, educate and
involve Jewish adults ages 22-45 through fundraising, leadership development
programs and social and professional networking opportunities.
IMPACT Happy Hours provide young adults with opportunities to meet and
socialize in a welcoming, casual atmosphere at local bars around Baltimore.
These events are free to attend and include a cash bar.
Young adults can access all age-appropriate happenings in Jewish Baltimore
through the community's on-line young adult calendar. J-more: Your Jewish

Spend a summer on the farm as a Summer Fellow. You can live and work on the
farm while teaching at neighboring Camp Milldale or studying Torah in Kayam's
Summer Kollel. Join Kayam Farm for special events such as the Tu B'Av Love and
Music Festival or the annual Beit Midrash shabbaton. Sign up for Kayam's
newsletter to receive updates on skills workshops such as pickling,
cheese-making, rain-barrel making and more.
Moishe House Baltimore, located in the heart of Federal Hill, offers young
adults ages 21 to 35, an opportunity to socialize and hang out at events that
include barbeques, Shabbat dinners, movie nights and more. Feel free to stop by
the house anytime!
Politically Connect offers exciting opportunities for adults ages 22 to 45 to
meet and mingle with prominent elected officials and national political experts
to learn about and participate in the political process. Politically
Connect has evening or early morning programs two to four times per
year.
Young adult volunteers in their 20s and 30s bring sunshine to families and
children undergoing medical treatment at the Ronald McDonald House in downtown
Baltimore. Each young adult brings one dish to the house where he or she reheats
or prepares it in the state-of-the-art kitchen and then visits with the
residents during dinner. Some months, JVC also plans the activities hour
following dinner. Volunteers help make life a little easier for families going
through a stressful time – and have a good time too!
Taste of IMPACT participants explore Jewish Baltimore, learn about IMPACT and
THE ASSOCIATED, meet new people, give back to the community through hands-on
volunteering and have a lot of fun!
Young adult volunteers in their 20s and 30s make a difference in the lives of
Baltimore City school students through this unique career education program.
Once a month, volunteers visit Federal Hill Preparatory School to help students
in grades six to eight learn about different careers and the skills needed to
pursue them.
YLC is a two-year leadership development program that focuses on young adults
ages 22-45 who aspire to hold key positions within THE ASSOCIATED and the
Baltimore Jewish community. Through fundraising, educational programs,
community service projects and agency observation experiences, young
professionals develop an understanding of THE ASSOCIATED, Baltimore’s organized
Jewish community, and the importance of philanthropy. They also gain an array
of leadership skills.
