Israel & Overseas Funding Criteria
The Israel and Overseas Committee of THE ASSOCIATED: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore will be seeking proposals to promote positive progress in Jewish communities worldwide, when the RFP is issued Fall of 2012. THE ASSOCIATED’s Israel and Overseas Commitee serves to strengthen Jewish life through the identification of priorities and allocation of human and financial resources in conjunction with partners invested in global responsibility.
Proposals must be:
Impactful: the projects funded by the committee meet critical needs and make a real difference.
Educational: through the process we are creating more informed leaders in the community who understand the issues and can communicate them in the community.
Engaging: the funding process and the projects themselves connect more people to THE ASSOCIATED and its overseas partners in both informational and hands-on ways.
Create an emotional component: through the process we want to create an emotional connection to people, projects and communities.
There are two areas of focus for the Israel and Overseas Committee:
Serving vulnerable populations: youth-at-risk, elderly and recent immigrants to Israel
Community development: Jewish education, Jewish identity, leadership development and volunteerism
A new RFP will be issued in Fall of 2012. Allocations decisions will be made Spring of 2013. Proposals should be no more than five pages and must be submitted by email to Mary Haar at mhaar@associated.org.
