Campaign Associate, Associated Women

The Associated:  Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore has an immediate opening for a full time enthusiastic development professional for Associated Women.  Candidate will be responsible for cultivating and stewarding new donors and engaging volunteers through a variety of campaign initiatives, programs and events. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to engage and motivate volunteers, lay leadership and implement campaign strategies as well as the ability to thrive in a team oriented environment.

Program Associate

THE ASSOCIATED: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore is currently seeking a Program Associate for the Center for Community Engagement and Leadership (CCEL).  The Center works to engage volunteers, cultivate donors and increase campaign dollars through a variety of initiatives.  The Program Associate will serve as a resource to internal and external ASSOCIATED clients providing the human resources capital needed to staff committees, boards and leadership positions throughout the community.  The ideal candidate will have three to five years of non-profit experience, a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related field and strong knowledge of the Jewish community.

Community Conversations Coordinator

CHAI (Comprehensive Housing Assistance Inc.) is seeking to fill the position, Community Conversations Coordinator. This is a part time position that promotes communication and understanding between the Orthodox and African American residents in the community by implementing activities that fosters greater respect and communication. Projects involving four focus areas: youth, safety, civility, communication and understanding are developed and implemented by the coordinator and a 14 member lay leadership team.  This candidate will work with CHAI’s community organizer and Director of School Community Partnerships to bring programming to schools, neighborhood institutions and the community at large.

The successful candidate for this position has demonstrated experience in community organizing, diversity, cultural awareness and sensitivity, working with all ages, training, development, and conflict resolution/mediation.  A minimum of five years’ experience as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, Master’s Degree preferred. He/she has the ability to build volunteer involvement and to work effectively as a team player in a non- profit community development organizational setting.

Semi-Skilled Home Weatherization Worker

Comprehensive Housing Assistance, Inc. (CHAI), a Baltimore based non-profit is currently looking for a semi-skilled Home Weatherization Worker.  Qualified individual will be familiar with all general aspects of home improvement and weatherization including framing, insulation installation, windows, caulking, tiling and a basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing work to weatherize and make other improvements to homes in Baltimore City and surrounding counties.  Weatherization work entails adding insulation, replacing doors and windows with skilled team member.

Director of School - Community Partnerships

CHAI (Comprehensive Housing Assistance Inc.) is seeking to fill the position, Director of School-Community Partnerships. This is a full time position to promote the educational success of students in Northwest Baltimore and Pikesville by working to enhance school programs, school facilities, community involvement in the education of the area’s children, and community awareness about area schools. This is accomplished through partnerships with schools, non-profits, businesses, city and county school systems and community leaders. The Director will actively seek opportunities to fundraise for capital projects and enrichment activities that will improve student’s school experiences.

The successful candidate for this position has a track record of school/community organizing with a focus on education and/or youth development with three to five years’ experience.  A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, Master’s Degree preferred. He/she has the ability to build volunteer involvement and to work effectively as a team player in a non- profit community development organizational setting.

Home Energy Auditor

Comprehensive Housing Assistance, Inc.’s (CHAI) mission is to develop and support thriving and stable communities in neighborhoods with a substantial Jewish population in Baltimore City.  To advance this mission CHAI is currently seeking a Home Energy Auditor to appraise the improvement and weatherization needs of residential homes in greater Baltimore and other jurisdictions of Maryland.  The Home Energy Auditor will be responsible for conducting full screening audits by entering homes, attics, basements and crawl spaces to determine energy improvement needs. Candidate will capture data by interacting with the homeowner, inspecting the structure, conducting required tests and then making specific recommendations for weatherization and energy improvements. 

The Home Energy Auditor will have at least one year of experience in residential energy auditing.  BPI Certification required.   Qualified candidates will have a passion for the environment and community.  Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to pass background checks will be required.

Facilities Associate

The Pearlstone Center, located in Reisterstown, is seeking a part-time/on-call Facility Associate to assist in the day to day operations at the Center. The two main areas of this position include food service and overall care and appearance of the facility including: meeting rooms, common areas, dining areas, kitchen, lodging rooms, bathrooms, and storage areas.

 

Candidate will be called upon to participate in catering services including table setting, serving, light kitchen prep and clean-up. Responsibilities will also entail housekeeping duties that include, but are not limited to, sanitizing and restocking bathrooms, vacuuming, window cleaning, and making beds.

 

Candidate must be extremely organized, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and possess the ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional customer service is a must. All candidates must have reliable transportation as no public transportation is nearby Center. 

 

This position does not include benefits. Work schedule is as need and flexible, but will not exceed eighteen hours per week. One year of similar work experience is helpful, but not required and willingness to learn about the kosher food service industry. Human Resources Internship

This internship for The Associated's Human Resources will provide practical job related experience to a college student who has interest in Human Resources (or related) field with an interest in working in the non-profit arena. This internship will take place in the spring and fall semesters.

Due to our steady growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a student intern to assist the Human Resources team in the Baltimore area. The student may work up to 15 hours per week during the spring and fall semesters. Responsibilities will include (but not limited to): 

  • Working under the supervision of the Vice President of Human Resources and Assistant Director of Human Resources
  • Attend Human Resources Agency wide meetings on a monthly basis
  • Assist with mailings and informational pieces to be distributed throughout the agencies
  • Maintaining up to date and accurate personnel files
  • Processing resumes (logging into resume database and sending letters)
  • Represent The Associated's Human Resources Department on a variety of levels
  • Other duties as assigned
