COVID-19 Message from Baltimore Rabbis

In a recent video, Baltimore’s local Rabbanim, in a unified message, encouraged Baltimoreans to get the COVID-19 vaccine. With COVID-19 cases spiking in recent weeks, due in part to the surging Delta variant, Baltimore’s Rabbis stress the importance of receiving the COVID-19 vaccine – a vaccine that has saved lives and allowed Jewish spaces to reopen.

The vaccine is not just for your own safety, but for that of your friends, neighbors and loved ones.

“Protect yourself and them by getting vaccinated,” one Rabbi stressed.

With the New Year approaching it is important, now more than ever, that we get vaccinated so that we can save lives.

In another video, made for the Baltimore County Health Department, Rabbi Hopfer, the head of the Vaad of Rabbonim (Rabbinical Council of Baltimore) , reinforced the message regarding the importance of the local community receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

“We acted as a group, unanimously asking our congregants… to please get vaccinated… I feel that it is extremely important.”

The top video was published on Aug. 6 on the Baltimore City Health Department’s “BmoreHealthy” youtube page and was made with appreciation to the Orthodox Rabbanim of Baltimore, MD as a project of the VALUE Baltimore initiative though the Baltimore City Health Department and with the cooperation of The Associated Jewish Federation of Baltimore.
